Customers can also collect payroll cards and eligible government benefit cards up to one cent. Yes, tax refund checks can be cashed at all PAYOMATIC stores.
Advance Repayment Loan (RAL) checks can also be cashed at any store. Just like at a bank, Walmart allows consumers to cash their checks and have the money in hand instantly. Unfortunately, Walmart doesn't cash personal checks. At most Walmart offices, your check will be processed electronically through TeleCheck or Certegy, check authorization services.
Walmart uses a scanning machine to read checks, so make sure your check has no wrinkles, tears or smudges near the numbers on the bottom of the check; otherwise it will be denied. However, due to the lack of a charter letter, you won't be able to use Walmart to make federally insured deposits or get a loan.
Walmart will only allow you to cash a check that has been made out to you and will verify your identity before cashing your check; so make sure you bring valid identification with you.
